Position: Summer Camp Counsellor

Location: English Language Day Camp, Vienna

Duration: 4 weeks, 1 – 26 July, Monday to Friday 8 AM – 4:30 PM

 

About Us:

E.L.D.C has been a staple in the Vienna camp scene since 1990. With over 120 children and 18 counsellors it is one of the biggest summer day camps in Vienna. Nestled in the 22nd district, our camp offers a diverse range of activities including Active English, Sports, Theatre, Arts & Crafts, and Music & Dance. All activities aim to foster confidence in speaking English, creativity and friendships among campers.

 

Job Description:

As a Summer Camp Counsellor, you play a pivotal role in creating a safe, nurturing, and enjoyable environment for our campers. You are responsible for leading and supervising a group of campers throughout their daily activities, ensuring their well-being, and actively engaging them in exciting and educational experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead a group of campers during scheduled activities, meals, and free time

• Build positive relationships with campers, providing guidance, support, and encouragement as needed

• Plan and implement daily camp programmes and activities

• Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers by enforcing camp rules

• Serve as a role model for campers, demonstrating enthusiasm, responsibility, and respect at all times

• Collaborate with fellow counsellors and camp leadership to create a cohesive and inclusive camp community

• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other camp-related events as required

 

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old (21+ preferred)

• English native (or accent free) speaker

• Previous experience working with children in a camp, school, or recreational setting is highly desirable

 

Benefits:

• Contract for the month of July, insured

• €1400 – €1800 based on experience
